Security breach during PM Narendra Modi's roadshow in Karnataka's Davanagere, man tries to run towards his convoy

DAVANAGERE: A security breach was reported during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally in Karnataka's Davanagere on Saturday.

A youth, who was waiting to have a glimpse of the PM during his roadshow, tried to run towards the PM when his convoy came close to him during the roadshow organised as a part of Mahasangam event that started from the GMIT guest house. But, the youth was immediately caught by the police and was taken into custody for further investigation.

A video of a youth trying to reach closer to the PM, has gone viral on social media.

Davanagere SP CB Ryshyanth denied this and clarified that it was not a security breach.

"There was a huge crowd to witness PM Modi’s rally, and people were waiting at the places identified by the police behind the barricades. But all of a sudden, a youth crossed the wooden barricade and he started to run towards the PM’s convoy, but we caught him immediately. The youth was about 20 meters away from the PM’s convoy and we are investigating this case", he said.
