MUMBAI: The police on Saturday beefed up security across Mumbai to prevent any untoward incident as the city geared up to celebrate New Year without any Covid-19 restrictions after two years.

Besides this, to ensure smooth travel for Mumbaikars, the Railways and Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST), had announced special services after midnight on December 31.
