A section of the busy Manchester ringroad, the Mancunian Way, will close overnight this evening for 'urgent' safety repair works.
One lane going in each direction on the highway will be closed to all vehicular traffic from 8pm on Monday evening (November 14). Both lanes will reopen at 5am on Tuesday morning (November 15).
Manchester City Council say the closure is necessary to make 'urgent safety repairs' to the barriers on the road, which runs through Manchester city centre.

The eastbound lane closure will come into effect after the A6 junction. The westbound carriageway will see one lane closed after the Princess Road junction.
A Manchester City Council spokesperson said: "The Mancunian Way is to be closed overnight in order to carry out urgent safety repairs.
"On Monday night (November 14) a single lane of the eastbound carriageway, after the A6 junction, will be closed between 8pm and 5am the following morning (Tuesday, 15 November). During this same period, a single lane on the westbound carriageway, after the Princess Road junction, will also be closed.
"Work is being carried out to facilitate urgent repairs to safety barriers on the road. If you may be affected by this closure please check for updates on the TfGM website."
