A section of the M5 will be closed overnight to allow a 'special order abnormal load convoy' to pass through. The motorway will be closed in both directions between junctions 17 and 18 from 10pm tonight (August 24) to 5am tomorrow.
National Highways has confirmed that two diversions will be in place - one on the northbound side and one on the southbound. It has apologised for any inconvenience that is likely to be caused.
Those travelling on the M5 northbound will be diverted from junction 19 via the M49 and M4. Likewise, those on the southbound carriageway will be diverted via the M4 and M49 while the closure is in place.
