The Royal Family are not short of places to live - there have castles, palaces and stately homes scattered across the country and many are very well known. Others, such as a three-bedroomed cottage in Scotland are less familiar to the public.
The cottage, Tam-Na-Ghar, is on The Queen's Balmoral estate in Aberdeenshire and is a retreat for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. It has been a special place for Prince William and Kate Middleton since their student days at the University of St Andrews in Scotland.
It is one of three places the royal couple and their family can enjoy and it was left to Prince William upon the death of his great-grandmother, The Queen Mother, in 2002. It has been said that the couple spent some of the happiest days of their lives there, MyLondon reports.
