A WOMAN facing charges in relation to the alleged murder of Stockton man Graham Cameron last year has been released on conditional bail.

Jasmin Forrester-Manton, 23, was arrested about 7.45am on Tuesday after police searched her home on Stone Street, Stockton.

Homicide squad detectives and officers attached to the Newcastle City police district arrested her and charged her at Newcastle police station about 8.15 am with a single count of conceal serious indictable offence for allegedly failing to inform police that she knew Mr Cameron had been killed, and who killed him.

The charge sheet names Dalton Trent Oliver as the alleged murderer. Mr Oliver was arrested in October and remains in police custody.

The conceal offence carries a maximum jail term of 20 years.

Neither Ms Forrester-Manton or Mr Oliver has entered pleas or been required to do so.

Ms Forrester-Manton later appeared in Newcastle Local Court where she was released on condition that she be of good behaviour, remain living at the Stone Street address, report to police at Waratah three times per week, and adhere to a curfew between 9pm and 7am.

Emergency services were called to Mr Cameron's unit where he lived alone on Fullerton Street, Stockton, on Monday July 26 last year following reports of a unit fire.

On arrival, officers from Fire and Rescue NSW found the premises well alight and later determined it had been deliberately lit.

Mr Cameron's body was found in the burnt out remains. A post mortem of his body confirmed to police that he had been murdered prior to the blaze and a homicide investigation was launched.

It is understood that police will allege that Mr Cameron was stabbed to death before the fire was deliberately lit.

Investigations under Strike Force Childowla continue.

Mr Cameron kept to himself according to neighbours and was never without his dog Izzy, who was uninjured in the fire. He could often be seen around Stockton walking or riding his pushbike with Izzy, or taking her for a swim.

He was remembered as a larrikin who loved a few beers, the song Gangsta's Paradise.
