Following Sean “Diddy” Combs’ recent arrest and subsequent bail hearing, his lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, expressed frustration with federal prosecutors during a press briefing. Agnifilo highlighted that Combs had voluntarily turned himself in, questioning the government's motives in opposing his release on bail to avoid detention.
Emphasizing Combs' cooperation, Agnifilo stated, “He came here to turn himself in. Why doesn’t the government want him to turn himself in? Because then they can’t ask for detention.” Agnifilo further emphasized Combs' good faith by mentioning his willingness to travel for the surrender.
Despite the arrest, Agnifilo remained resolute in his defense of Combs, indicating plans to present the same arguments in a subsequent hearing scheduled for the following day. The lawyer expressed determination, stating, “We’ll make it as much as we can until we get him out.”
The upcoming appeal, set to be heard by a different judge at the New York courthouse, signifies ongoing legal efforts to secure Combs' release. Agnifilo's unwavering commitment to advocating for his client's rights underscores the legal complexities surrounding the case.
