Week 1 was a costly Sunday for the Seattle Seahawks. Not only did they lose their home opener in the worst loss since 2017, but they also lost their bookend starting tackles. Unfortunately, the hits keep on coming for right tackle Abe Lucas.
Not only was Lucas placed on injured reserve earlier this week, but now it is announced he will undergo a procedure on his injured knee. This is a critical loss for the Seahawks, no matter how long Lucas is out.
Buy Seahawks TicketsPete Carroll said Abe Lucas will have a procedure done on his injured knee. Don’t know the timeline yet for his return. Charles Cross is making progress but not enough to play this week. Has a chance to play next week. #Seahawks

Not that it’s ever a good time to lose your starting tackles, but this is an especially inopportune moment for Seattle. The Lions have a legitimate pass rush, led by the No. 2 pick in the 2022 NFL draft – Aidan Hutchinson. With Charles Cross already ruled out against Detroit, it could be even tougher sledding for a Seahawks offense that struggled mightily once Lucas and Cross left the game against the Rams.
