The most important hire that new Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald makes in the coming days is offensive coordinator. As eight new head coaches around the NFL begin to fill out their staffs for the 2024 season, Macdonald may have to move fast to secure his preferred choices for OC. So far, we have gotten word of a couple of candidates who may succeed Shane Waldron as Seattle’s next offensive playcaller.
Here is where we will be tracking reports of their interest in offensive coordinator candidates.
Alabama offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb

Lions passing game coordinator Tanner Engstrand
The Seahawks have requested to interview Lions pass-game coordinator Tanner Engstrand for their offensive coordinator job, per source. Engstrand is slated to meet with Tampa Bay for their OC spot and interviewed last week for the Patriots job.

Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka
While Ryan Grubb is under consideration in Seattle as OC, I wouldn't discount Giants OC Mike Kafka. He interviewed well there during their HC process, and sources say there's interest.
