Pop-rock favourites Scouting for Girls are to be a headline draw at Central Park this summer, it has been announced.
Securing the Brit Award nominees for its entertainment programme is a coup for the pop-up beer garden which is currently taking shape in Times Square. Organisers revealed their first live music act this Wednesday and say tickets will be released for sale on Friday.
Scouting for Girls, whose debut album was a number one hit in 2008, have built up an army of fans over the years and earned four Brit Award nominations alongside nods for other awards. Last year they released their sixth album, Easy Cover, delighting fans with a combination of covers and new work.

Brought north by concert promoter 456 Live, they will take to the stage at Central Park on August 18.
The stage is already in place at the venue which is currently being built, with plans for the event to be both bigger and better than previous years.
With far greater capacity, the beer garden will incorporate a mezzanine level and rooftop bar this time, alongside ground floor attractions including themed seating areas, VIP spaces and summery scenery.
It is set to open on April 16 and it will run until August 21 with an entertainment programme including DJ nights, big screen sports, a Eurovision party and Kroud Karaoke
