A REGION in Scotland has been named one of the world’s best destinations to visit for 2027 by National Geographic.

Dumfries and Galloway is the only UK destination to be included in the prestigious list and was praised for being one of the world’s best spots for celestial viewing and for its spectacular coastal trails.
