Three legal directors at Scottish law firm Thorntons have started 2023 as partners.
Both Anne Miller and Mike Kemp have been promoted to partner in the dispute resolution and claims team in Dundee, while Graeme Dickson steps up to partner in the Edinburgh-based private client team.
The trio collectively bring more than 50 years of experience to their new roles.
Dickson joined Thorntons as a senior solicitor in 2012, while Miller joined the firm in 2015 and Kemp in 2016.
The Dundee duo act for a variety of clients across Scotland - universities, family businesses, land owners, individuals, corporate creditors and insolvency practitioners.
Kemp has experience in all matters of commercial litigation, but specialises in supporting clients in the education sector, contentious commercial property and mediation, while Miller has a particular focus on insolvency and restructuring, debt recovery, contentious intellectual property, commercial contract disputes and alternative dispute resolution.
She said: “I am delighted to be starting the new year as a partner at Thorntons, a firm which I joined in 2015 as a senior solicitor and where I have been supported in achieving the position of partner.”
Dickson advises individuals and families on a range of issues, including wills, powers of attorney, executries, contentious estates, inheritance tax planning and asset protection.
Thorntons chair Colin Graham said: “Graeme, Mike and Anne are all fantastic examples of the learning and development opportunities we provide across the firm.
“Their progression to leadership roles is well deserved as they are great assets to the business and their respective teams.”
Headquartered in Dundee, the firm now has 13 offices, ranging from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Montrose to St Andrews, Arbroath and Perth.
