Scottish healthtech start-up secures NHS Lothian contract

Scottish health technology start-up Infix Support has secured a contract with health board NHS Lothian.

The company, founded by consultant anaesthetist Dr Matthew Freer in 2019, has developed cloud-based software infix: Schedule, which aims to improves the efficiency of surgical operating theatres while tackling patient waiting list backlogs, alongside virtual portal infix: Preop, to optimise the patient pathway.

The NHS Lothian contract follows a successful clinical trial with NHS Lanarkshire, where Infix increased operating theatre utilisation by 27%. A separate independent review by the University of Stirling found that infix: Schedule can improve theatre efficiency by up to 37%.
