A Scottish holiday park has been slammed for the 'disgusting' condition of accommodation in one of the "luxury" apartments at the site.
Guests were taken aback when they arrived at the £126 a night cabin to find an ashtray filled with old cigarettes and scabby paintwork and mould across the veranda before they even stepped inside the holiday cabin.
Unfortunately as soon as they did it only got worse. When stepping inside the luxury apartment on the Ayrshire, Craig Tara park there were cupboards hanging off the walls, ripped sofas, stained chopping boards, urine around the toilet and grease on the kitchen walls.

The holiday makers, from Fife, complained to staff but were told there was no other apartments available, so one of the family ended up trying to clean the disgusting apartment himself before leaving a day early.
On the the site the Veranda Apartment is described as a "private place to sample the sea breeze" and says it includes "all the great things about our comfort models with a fantastic outdoor area that’s truly the icing on the cake of a great stay.
"Complete with a table and chairs, it brings even more light to your staycation life."
The customer had shared on Facebook writing: "I don’t usually post or complain much but thought I’d share the shocking conditions of our £126 a night 10-day holiday apartment at Haven Craig Tara, this is meant to be their flagship accommodation with upper veranda which they only have two of on the park."
They explained: "We were greeted with an ashtray on the veranda full of cigarette ends, the paint work and green mould on veranda was filthy, into the kitchen which had grease up the tiles at the cooker and a chopping board fixed to the counter, fit for the bin.
Adding: "With the fridge top thick with dust, the living room had ripped couches, paper, bottle tops, hair, and food debris on and behind the couch."
The lack of cleanliness seemed to be across the apartment from the kitchen to the bathroom. He continued: "The blinds had thick dust on them with cobwebs hanging from the roof and on the fixed ornaments, the bathroom had urine round the toilet bowl and around the floor with paint flacking everywhere and the shower just as filthy."
Adding: "The kid’s bedroom shelving was also full of dust and ours was even worse with mould on the roof and cupboard doors hanging off.
"The flooring in the hall was lifting too, it really was shocking, they sent a young girl up to clean but I wasn’t giving orders to her or telling her to clean this, then clean that so I sent her away and went up to reception they told us they had no more of they apartments left so I left and cleaned it myself."
After feeling deflated and leaving their dream stay early due to the mess, the family had contacted Haven and when they replied offering no compensation the fuming dad took to Facebook to share: "I thought I’d share this as they refused to offer me any compensation for this so watch what you’re doing if you are planning on a holiday there. Here are some of the pictures and a short video."
The post received hundreds of likes, comments and shares from shocked and disgusted locals in disbelief at the pictures of the apartment.
One user said: "Disgusting it must've gone downhill since I was there demand a discount ,you should have got the manage to have a look ,in this day and age they probably don't have one either fine excuse no staff or COVID."
While another said: "That’s absolutely disgusting"

After Edinburgh Live contacted Haven, the customers who were previously offered no compensation were then offered a ten-day stay next summer in their "best" caravan on site with free kids activities worth £3000.
A spokesperson for Haven said: ""We are sorry that Mr Marshall’s caravan didn't meet our usual high standards of cleanliness.
"We have spoken with him directly to apologise and offered a free return holiday for him and his family, and look forward to welcoming them back to the park.”
