Scott Sinclair a free agent as Celtic Invincible heads for Preston North End exit door

Celtic Invincible Scott Sinclair is a free agent after ending his two-and-a-half year stay at Preston North End.

The former Parkhead winger confirmed on Instagram that he would be leaving the Deepdale with his contract expiring.

Sinclair moved to the Lancashire club two years ago after four years in Glasgow where he won nine major honours.

Now the 33-year-old is on the lookout for a new club after never really reaching the heights many expected during his time at the Championship club with just 14 goals.

Sinclair has managed just 150 minutes since the end of January and wasn’t even in the squad for Saturday’s 4-1 win against Middlesbrough.

The Englishman was one of the bigger earners at Preston North End and his departure will free up wages for boss Ryan Lowe.

Preston finished 13th in the table but Sinclair said on Instagram: “My time has come to an end at the club, I would like to thank the fans and my team mates for the past two and a half years.

“Exciting times ahead my journey continues.”

Brendan Rodgers signed Sinclair for Celtic for £3 million in 2016 and he became an instant hero when he came off the bench to score the winner in the league opener against Hearts Tynecastle that season.
