Scott Robertson has opened up on the Scott Brown factor for joining Fleetwood Town as he revealed his quick 'bond' with Celtic diehard Shaun Rooney.
The former Hoops skipper raided his old club to snap up his former team-mate yesterday with the youngster putting pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Cod Army. He's no stranger to the English Leagues having previously spent time on loan south of the border. He reckons his experiences both at a huge club like the Scottish champions and his time out on loan will help him deliver in his new adventure. He is raring to go and just can't wait to get consistent minutes and games under his belt.
He told Fleetwood Town's website : “I am really pleased to be here, and I just can’t wait to get games under my belt. With the connection of Celtic and Scott Brown, he played a big part in me coming to Fleetwood. When I first spoke to him, it was positive, we got on and it was just a matter of getting the deal done.

“It was a big reason for me coming here, they have a very good training ground and the club have a good little stadium. The manager was a big call but there’s more aspects here."
On what he can bring and the Celtic diehard that has taken him under his wing, he continued: “The squad is full of quality and comes with that is the ambition and it’s a group who doesn’t want to just stay in League One, the chairman wants to push up the leagues and hopefully I can help with that.
“The squad in general have welcomed me in, but I have created a bond already with Shaun Rooney. He has taken me under his wing and with us both being Celtic fans, well him being a bigger fan, I just haven’t met anyone like him.
“Celtic are a big club in Scotland and having been there for the last 14 years, it will only help me in my career as I make the step here at Fleetwood.
“Also, with my previous loans, I feel each loan have brought me something different and it’s all good experience. I know this league. I think with the loans they have all gave me different challenges and they’ve all kept me in good stead.”
