A Scots tot fighting cancer has asked Santa for her long hair to grow back in a heart-breaking letter after losing her blonde locks to chemotherapy.

Macy, aged 4, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in January this year and has since been receiving treatment at the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People (RHCYP) in Edinburgh. Sick children in the capital are seeing letters to Santa redirected to locals this Christmas as part of a charity drive.

In her letter, the youngster said her wish was for her hair to grow back just like her mummy's.
