Scots teenager missing overnight sparks police appeal as search is launched

Police have launched an appeal to help find a missing Fife teenager last seen on Saturday night.

Keira Murphy, 15, was last seen in the Chapelhill area of Kirkcaldy around 11.20pm on April 16.

Officers say enquiries are ongoing to trace the teen, from Dunfermline, and to ensure that she is safe and well.

The 15-year-old is described as white, around 5ft 3” in height with long brown hair.

When she was last seen she was wearing blue jeans, a shirt/jacket and pink and cream Nike trainers.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers are appealing for the assistance of the public in tracing 15-year-old Keira Murphy, who has been reported missing.

"Keira is from the Dunfermline area, however, she was last seen in the Chapelhill area of Kirkcaldy around 11.20pm on Saturday, 16 April.

"Enquiries are ongoing to trace her to ensure that she is safe and well.

"She is described as white, around 5ft 3” in height with long brown hair.

"When she was last seen she was wearing blue jeans, a shirt/jacket and pink and cream Nike trainers.

"Anyone who has seen Keira, or who has any information on her whereabouts should contact officers through 101 with reference 3445 of 16 April."

Update: Keira Murphy has been traced safe and well.
