A Scots entertainer has gone viral after video footage of her singing to a pigeon was shared on social media - and reached original artist Kylie Minogue.
Christeen MacMurdie's crafty adaptation of the Australian's latest hit Padam Padam - which she changed to Pigeon Pigeon - has had thousands of people in stitches. And after being viewed nearly a million times on TikTok, the video of the karaoke host has now even been shared by Kylie herself.
The 56-year-old mum-of-one, from Uddingston, hosts karaoke at the Waterloo Bar in Glasgow every Sunday and Wednesday. On Sunday July 2, she arrived for her usual 3pm slot to find a commotion after a pigeon had become trapped in the bar.
Christeen, alongside bar staff and punters, tried in vain to help the pigeon escape before she started her set - and as she was singing one of her favourite hits, she couldn't pass up the opportunity to direct the song at the bird.
In the video she can be heard singing: "Pigeon, pigeon, I hear it and I know. Pigeon, pigeon, I know you wanna take me home, pigeon - and get to know me close."
The video has had people in stitches and after it went viral Christeen even appeared on the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show on Radio 2.
Speaking to the Record, Christeen said: "The pigeon got stuck there on the Sunday morning and we were all standing looking up at it and were trying to get the poor thing down. It wouldn't move, so I started singing.
"I've been doing the Kylie song for the last few weeks because I love it - then as I was performing I realised that it rhymes with pigeon.
"The customers thought it was funny and so they started recording it but I never thought anything of it until everyone started texting me the next day to say I had gone viral. It was such a surprise."
The video was quickly shared numerous times on social media and Zoe Ball called on her listeners to help find Christeen the following morning.
The stunned entertainment host then started getting floods of messages telling her to get in contact with Radio 2.
"I had no idea why", said Christeen. "I was like, what is going on? I got in contact with her and we had a chat live on air. I apparently then featured on Scott Mills show later on and Radio 1 too - and now Kylie has reposted it on her TikTok and Instagram pages. It's absolutely unbelievable.
"My LGBTQI+ friends from the Waterloo Bar will be so pleased - they are massive fans of hers. I never thought she would see it, never mind repost it. Wow.
"I was hoping one day I might go viral for my singing, but I never expected that to happen thanks to a pigeon."
The pigeon was stuck in the bar for almost three days before it finally wandered out the front door on Tuesday.
