A Scots pervert was caught with a haul of sick child sex abuse videos on his mobile phone.
James Luby was snared by cops who raided his home in Tranent, East Lothian, after seeking a warrant.
The 59-year-old’s phone was examined and dozens of sordid videos along with nearly 300 images were located on the device.
Luby appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Friday and admitted possessing indecent images of children.
Fiscal depute Susan Dickson said police officers arrived at Luby’s address.
Ms Dickson said cops spoke to Luby’s mother who answered the door and said she was in the house with her son.
The court heard officers seized a mobile phone and a laptop belonging to Luby.
Ms Dickson said an immediate check of the phone found three videos at Category A - the worst level - and two at Category B which were in a “trash folder”.
She said the films showed both boys and girls aged eight to 12 being sexually abused by adult men.
The court was told Luby was arrested and taken to St Leonards police station.
Ms Dickson said the phone was further analysed and 20 Category A videos, 12 at Category B, and 41 at Category C were identified.
A further 118 Category A images were discovered along with 73 at Category B and 91 at Category C.
The prosecutor said no indecent material was found on the laptop.
Luby admitted possessing the indecent images between January 22 and March 18 2019.
Sheriff Chris Dickson deferred sentence on Luby until next month for reports.
The sheriff placed Luby on the sex offenders register on an interim basis until the next hearing.
