Scots food bank users 'left feeling sick' at UK Government's 'fatcat' mini budget

As Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng was unveiling his fatcat budget, others were picking up essential supplies from food banks. At Glasgow’s Carntyne and Riddrie Food Bank Credit Union, people were stunned at the brass neck of the Tories.

They criticised tax breaks being handed to the rich while the poorest people are being squeezed worse than ever. Food bank boss John Lyons said: “It makes me feel sick because it’s the poorest that are getting hammered.

“It’s always the poor who will pay. We are getting busier all the time and it’s the young people now who will be paying for the profits of fatcats for decades to come.
