A Scots family have been left devastated after their beloved Pocket Bully puppy was snatched from his garden by thieves in a black Jaguar.
Five-month-old Bronson was taken from his owner’s home in Fulton Crescent, Kilbarchan, at around 5.30pm on Friday last week.
CCTV captured a mysterious black 4x4 motor that had been spotted lurking in the area for up to two weeks before the theft took place.
After seeing little Bronson bundled into the car, brave neighbours chased after it on foot while calling the police but it was lost from sight.
His family have now issued a desperate appeal for the thieves to return Bronson who requires a special medicated diet.
Alexandrea Steinemann said: “He’s my son’s dog but it’s more of a family dog so we all look after him. He’s only five-months-old.
“He was in his own garden and my son went into the house to get something. He was only alone for around two minutes.
“Nathan was alerted by neighbours shouting and screaming that someone had taken the dog. Two people were running after the car that sped off with Bronson inside it.
“The CCTV shows a black Jaguar entering into the street at 5.27pm. It all lasted three minutes. The vehicle has been seen up to two weeks before in the area on CCTV. The neighbours called the police right away.
“We’re all absolutely devastated and with each day that goes on, we lose a little bit more hope that he’s going to be returned.
“We’re very, very concerned because Bronson is on a medicated diet and he is also under the care of the vet for a pre-existing condition.
“So this is him six days without any medication.
“I understand that some of these dogs cost thousands of pounds but Bronson didn’t. He was bought as a family pet.
“There’s no breeding potential with him and he doesn’t have any papers.
“I’d ask whoever took him to do the right thing and bring him back to his family that love him and really care for him.
“We put Bronson’s wellbeing before absolutely anything. It’s a costly business looking after him because of his health but we do it because we love him.”
A number of potential sightings of Bronson have been reported to the family since his disappearance but he has yet to be found.
His family are urging whoever took him to drop him off at a vet practice where he can be scanned for his microchip.
Police have confirmed they are investigating and are asking anyone with information to get in touch.
A force spokesperson said: “We can confirm that enquiries are ongoing into the theft of a pocket bully dog from the Johnstone area.
“The theft took place around 5.30pm on Friday, 18 March, on Fulton Crescent, Kilbarchan. Anyone with information which could assist officers should call 101, quoting incident 2767 of 18 March.
“Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
