Over the weekend, one Scots couple got engaged during Westlife's Glasgow gig and the video of the proposal went viral on TikTok after being captured by other concert goers.
And now, Danny McGuinness has revealed that he's known for almost a year that the proposal would happen on this night at The OVO Hydro as his new fiancee Vikki is 'Westlife daft'.
The Irish group played two nights at the Glasgow venue and it was during their rendition of hit 'Flying without wings' that 34-year-old Danny got down on one knee.
Danny told the Record: "I knew very earlier in our relationship she was the one. Vikki is Westlife daft, she's been to every single concert they have had in Glasgow so I always had the intention of focusing a proposal round something like that, because I knew it would blow her mind.
"As soon as tickets were released they were bought as Christmas present so we now had a date for our proposal. We had talked about our future and in the discussion 'Flying Without Wings' would be our first dance song so we now had the song. I wanted the day to be perfect so I upgraded our tickets for the concert and booked a surprise night away for us both."
Danny told Vikki's mum his big plans and she was equally over the moon. He said: "I asked Vikki's mum's permission on the Thursday night, which thankfully was greeted with a massive hug of love and acceptance. On the night of the proposal we went to our favourite restaurant Cafe Andaluz, which is always phenomenal, had a lovely meal, then drinks at Kelvingrove Cafe.
The electrician went on to say that the hardest part was trying to hide the diamond ring from his future wife, and he was even sweating when he was searched entering the OVO Hydro. He added: "The hardest part of our night was hiding the ring from Vikki all night as she is a hugger, even worse when we got patted down going into the hydro."
He then had to find out when their special song would play on the night so he could prepare for the big proposal. Danny added: "I had done my research so knew Flying Without Wings would be on after Mark's speech.
"Vikki was in her element dancing and singing away to Westlife which gave me the chance to sneak the ring out in preparation for the the big moment. Coming to the end of the speech I had the ring in my hand, took a deep breath and as soon as I heard the lyrics , "everybody is looking for that something", I got down on one knee.
Wedding planner Vikki was in complete shock and couldn't believe that Danny got down on one knee - a special moment which was caught on camera by another concert goer.
Danny said: "Vikki had no idea, I genuinely think she almost went into shock. Everyone around us was in tears and so so nice with congratulations, which made an amazing moment even more special. We can't thank everyone enough that videoed, took pictures and forwarded them onto us. As soon as we came out the concert we could send our family and friends them."
Danny and Vikki, from Motherwell, actually met at a wedding where Vikki was the events manager and Danny was the usher, and while they can't wait to tie the knot, they are just enjoying the moment of being newly engaged. Danny added: "We are early stages of wedding planning to be honest, still taking the last couple of days in as it's been very overwhelming!"
