Scots city named one of the most romantic in the world

With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching, new research has revealed the most romantic cities for city breaks across the world this winter.

The study by Flowercard has analysed 35 cities around the world on factors such as the number of romantic reviews on Trip Advisor, the number of romantic restaurants and activities and the chance of snow, to reveal the most romantic cities around the world.

And the only Scottish city represented in the top 10, and one of only two from the UK in the world list, Edinburgh was picked out with a romance score of 3.87.

The capital is well known for its tourist appeal, but it's also a wonderful place for a romantic getaway for two.

Ranked 6th in the world in the study, Edinburgh is filled with plenty of historical architecture, stunning restaurants and surrounded by beautiful scenery.

From romantic day walks up Arthur's Seat and strolls along the Royal Mile to exciting nightlife and vibrant food and drink scene, it has everything you'll need to impress a loved one.

According to the study, Bruges in Belgium is the most romantic city for a city break and is only one out of two cities to have a romance score over five, while it'll come as no surprise that New York takes the second spot.

Bath in England was the only other UK entry in the top 10. You can see the full list below.
