An air ambulance was called to a two-car smash which closed a Highlands road for more than seven hours. Authorities say a white Peugeot 2008 and a blue Audi A4 collided on the A887 near the A87 junction, near to Loch Cluanie, on Tuesday June 28 at 2.15pm.
Emergency services including a Helimed attended the scene and the drivers of both vehicles, men aged 42 and 46, were rushed to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. Both are described as being in a serious but stable condition.
Officers say passengers in the Peugeot also sustained minor injuries. The road was reopened at around 9.50pm after being closed for vehicle recovery and crash investigations.
Police are now appealing for anyone who has dash-cam footage or was in the area at the time to come forward and assist with enquiries. Sergeant Neil Macdonald said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I am appealing with anyone who was in the area at the time to get in touch.
“If you saw what happened then please make contact with us, particularly if you have dash-cam footage that could help with our investigation.” Anyone who can assist is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1601 of Tuesday, 28 June, 2022.
