ScotRail confirm travel disruption for football fans heading to St Mirren's Scottish Cup clash with Ayr United

St Mirren fans travelling to Ayrshire this Saturday are being warned they face travel disruption.

The Buddies are in Scottish Cup action against Championship Ayr United in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.

Around 2,000 Saints fans are expected to make the trip to Somerset Park.

But those travelling down the coast by train are tonight being warned their journey will be subject to delays.

ScotRail chiefs have confirmed that services between Paisley Gilmour Street and Kilwinning will be replaced by buses on Saturday.

Hundreds of Saints fans are expected to make the journey from Paisley via train for the eagerly-anticipated clash.

Jim Goodwin's men warmed up for the game with a 2-1 win at Dundee United last night.

They face an Ayr United side boosted by the arrival of new head coach, Lee Bullen, with the winners of the tie progressing through to the last 16 of the competition.
