Ewan Murray’s report from Hampden Park is in. That’ll be all from me – thanks for tuning in.

If you missed it, pop on the Spain highlights just for Lamine Yamal, who bagged a brace and was the creator of the second goal. He’s now got 10 goals from 35 caps … to go with those World Cup and Euro medals.

Updated

Kári Tulinius writes in:

The drab draw with Estonia wasn’t taken well in Iceland, and the manager was starting to feel pressure. This is absolutely the response fans were asking for. The Nations League is a bit of an irrelevance for more populous nations, but for countries like Iceland, doing well here is crucial.

Spain extend their unbeaten streak to 40 matches after cruising past Croatia … Scotland are winless after two games under Sébastien Pocognoli, Switzerland taking full control after Jack Hendry’s early departure.

Full-time scores

League A

  • Spain 4-1 Croatia

League B

  • Scotland 0-3 Switzerland

  • Slovenia 2-0 North Macedonia

League C

  • Luxembourg 0-3 Iceland

  • Bulgaria 0-0 Estonia

  • Slovakia 2-1 Kazakhstan

  • San Marino 0-3 Albania

GOAL! Spain 4-1 Croatia (Williams 89)

It’s electric wingplay again, and this time it’s Nico Williams’ turn. He picks it up on the left, launches a stepover before shifting on to a hit with his left foot, past Livakovic.

Updated

GOAL! Slovenia 2-0 North Macedonia (Matko 82)

Aljosa Matko pretty much seals things in Ljubljana.

GOAL! Scotland 0-3 Switzerland (Amdouni 82)

The cherry on top. Ndoye has another assist, cutting back from the right for Zeki Amdouni, who finds enough space in a crowded area. It’s a delightful finish, too much power on it for Gunn to keep out.

Updated

GOAL! Slovakia 2-1 Kazakhstan (Hancko 82)

It’s very nearly a copy-and-paste job from the Iceland game: Atlético Madrid’s David Hancko is up at the near post to head in a corner for Slovakia, quite possibly the matchwinner.

GOAL! Luxembourg 0-3 Iceland (Palsson 73)

Victor Palsson leaps high from a corner, guiding his header into the bottom right. Iceland are heading towards the top of their group.

GOAL! San Marino 0-3 Albania (Manaj 65)

Rey Manaj chests the ball and volleys inside the area … the keeper denies him, but the Albania forward has an easy rebound.

GOAL! Spain 3-1 Croatia (Lamine Yamal 63)

Magical once again from Lamine Yamal. He makes a run down the right, Pedri’s pass cuts through Croatia’s backline, but the teenage winger still has plenty to do from a tight angle inside the area. He finds enough space, though, squeezing the ball in via the inside of the post.

Updated

GOAL! Scotland 0-2 Switzerland (Elvedi 55)

And it gets worse for Scotland. Dan Ndoye is central to it again, collecting after a corner comes in, then sending in a teasing, low ball from the right. Nico Elvedi makes a smart run to finish from just outside the six-yard box.

Updated

GOAL! Slovenia 1-0 North Macedonia (Lovric 55)

Slovenia, who drew with Scotland in their opening game of the campaign, take the lead against North Macedonia through Sandi Lovric.

Just watching a replay of that Scotland red card: Switzerland move the ball at speed to expose the high line, and it’s actually a shame that Ndoye doesn’t get the chance to finish off a seven-pass move after some delicious one-touch play.

Half-time scores

League A

  • Spain 2-1 Croatia

League B

  • Scotland 0-1 Switzerland

  • Slovenia 0-0 North Macedonia

League C

  • Luxembourg 0-2 Iceland

  • Bulgaria 0-0 Estonia

  • Slovakia 1-1 Kazakhstan

  • San Marino 0-2 Albania

GOAL! Luxembourg 0-2 Iceland (Oskarsson 39)

Real Sociedad’s Orri Oskarsson bursts through the middle and slots past the keeper’s right to double Iceland’s lead.

GOAL! Slovakia 1-1 Kazakhstan (Karimov 35)

Kazakhstan are back in it thanks to Ramazan Karimov, who completes a lovely team move, turning on the edge of the area before blasting into the top right corner.

GOAL! San Marino 0-2 Albania (Uzuni 28)

Myrto Uzuni is there for the rebound from a saved free-kick.

Updated

GOAL! Spain 2-1 Croatia (Pubill 31)

It didn’t take long. Lamine Yamal takes a corner short, claims the ball back and sends in wonderful cross with his right boot – Marc Pubill rises to restore Spain’s lead with a header.

Updated

GOAL! Spain 1-1 Croatia (Beljo 28)

Perisic whips in a delicious cross from the left with his right foot … and big Beljo rises for a header to equalise!

Updated

GOAL! Slovakia 1-0 Kazakhstan (Sauer 26)

Stuttgart’s Leo Sauer gets Slovakia up and running.

GOAL! San Marino 0-1 Albania (Mehmeti 21)

San Marino started their League C campaign with a 7-0 defeat by Finland … and they’re down against Albania, Ipswich’s Anis Mehmeti tapping in at the far post from a corner.

21 min: Scotland 0-1 Switzerland John McGinn and Ricardo Rodríguez have their arms all over each other as Scotland appeal for a penalty after a corner comes in.

GOAL! Luxembourg 0-1 Iceland (A Gudjohnsen 13)

Blackburn’s Andri Gudjohnsen, son of Eidur, slots in from close range to give Iceland an early lead in their League C fixture.

GOAL! Scotland 0-1 Switzerland (Rodríguez 12)

It gets even worse for the hosts. The long-serving Ricardo Rodríguez steps up for the free-kick, not penalty, but it doesn’t matter – he curls in a left-footer from the edge of the area past the diving Angus Gunn.

Updated

Red card for Scotland's Jack Hendry!

10 min: Scotland 0-0 Switzerland Switzerland move the ball brilliantly from the back, cutting through the centre before Dan Ndoye breaks free … and is taken down by Jack Hendry by the edge of the area. It looks a penalty … but there’s a VAR check and the challenge is just outside. But Hendry is on his way and Scotland are down to 10 after 10.

Updated

4 min: Spain 1-0 Croatia Cucurella crosses from the left, Baena is there for the first-time hit … and Livakovic gets down low to his right to make a fine save. The world champions are living up to the title.

GOAL! Spain 1-0 Croatia (Lamine Yamal 2)

It takes the golden boy just seconds. Spain work it from left to right, the ball finding Lamine Yamal by the edge of the area, and he drifts in from the wing to sweep home with a first-time finish.

Updated

Spain are back at home for the first time since winning the World Cup for the second time. Ivan Perisic, still going at 37, is the Croatian skipper, while Unai Simón has the armband for Spain in Seville. Let’s play.

A reminder that Spain are looking to extend their unbeaten run to 40 matches. They last lost a game in March 2024, against Colombia. So, you know, best of luck to Croatia. England came pretty close to ripping up the streak.

There were a couple of early kick-offs … Finland and Belarus played out a goalless draw, while Moldova drew 1-1 against Faroe Islands.

Preamble

I hear there’s some news around, but there’s a game or two on as well. So while you’re wading through the redacted findings of an independent commission, taking in the Premier League v Manchester City, you can have a glance here as well for Scotland v Switzerland, Spain v Croatia, and others. No, we don’t have the excitement of “sham” contracts, but we’ve got the magic of the Nations League! I’m not selling this well, am I? Anywho, we’ve got seven 7.45pm BST kick-offs to keep tabs on, with Rob Smyth watching over Czechia v England. Keep me company with all your hopes, dreams and fears.
