Scotland international Che Adams has joined Serie A outfit Torino on a free transfer.

The 28-year-old, who was part of Scotland’s Euro 2024 squad, has penned a three-year deal with the Turin club following the expiry of his contract with Southampton.

Adams scored 16 goals for Saints last season as they won promotion back to the Premier League but has turned now the offer of a new contract. He leaves St Mary’s after scoring 49 goals in 191 games.

A club statement from Torino wished Adams a “warm welcome” to the Stadio Olimpico.

On Instagram, Adams shared a farewell message with Southampton supporters. He wrote: "Thank you, Southampton Football Club.

"I’m so grateful for the last five years. Southampton became home to me and my family, and we were surrounded by some amazing people and players.

"Thank you to everyone, from the backroom staff, to the kitchen staff, to the coaches, for all your support and guidance since I stepped into Staplewood in 2019. "I’m proud to be leaving with my head held high, getting this club back to where it belongs. We made you fans a promise, and it gives me such pride we delivered.

"Thank you for all the support, you’ve followed us home and away in incredible numbers, and it meant so much.

"Wishing you all the best for the future! Che."
