Scotland starting XI for Switzerland confirmed as Pocognoli makes three changes

There were plenty of encouraging signs from Sebastien Pocognoli's first game in charge of Scotland, but he will want a win over Switzerland as a marker of further progress.

The 0-0 draw with Slovenia brought a slow-ish first half before a much improved second period, with the Scots creating chance after chance but failing to convert any.

So there is plenty to build from, but plenty to improve upon.

The Belgian takes charge of his first home game this evening, with Hampden Park the venue as the Swiss come to town.

With a big squad to choose from, Pocognoli has made three changes to the side that drew in Ljubljana.

Luis Binks, Kieron Bowie and Nathan Patterson replace Stephen Welsh, Robbie Ure and Aaron Hickey in the strating line-up.

Scotland starting XI: Gunn, Robertson, Binks, McGinn, Gilmour, McBurnie, Hendry, McKenna, Ferguson, Bowie, Patterson.

Substitutes: Kelly, Bain, Hickey, Welsh, Doig, Ure, Christie, Miller, McPake, Gannon-Doak, Graham, Montgomery.
