The most popular baby names in Scotland have been revealed - with Jack knocked off top spot for the first time in more than a decade.
New figures released by the National Records of Scotland today show that Noah is now top of the charts, replacing Jack at the summit after 14 years.
A total of 373 babies were named after the biblical builder of the ark during 2022.
Olivia has been named as the most popular girls' name for the second year in a row.
Findlay, Alexander and Lewis dropped out of the top 10 boys' list during 2022, with James taking its lowest position (9th) since the charts began back in 1974.
In the girls' list, Freya and Millie have risen in popularity while Emily, Ella and Ava have dropped in the rankings.
The fastest rising boys' name between 2021 and 2022 was Teddy, jumping 35 places to 66th, with Parker also increasing in popularity sitting in position number 98 (rising 33 places).
Hudson is also up 30 places, now sitting in 53rd, with Theodore up to 49th (up 29).
There has been a change in trends for the girls' list too, with Nova jumping a huge 73 places to 62nd in 2022. Maeva is also up 59 places to 90, with Annie and Nina now sit in joint 80th up 55 and 46 places respectively.
Daniel Burns, National Records of Scotland statistician, said: “NRS is happy to welcome all the new babies of 2022.
When it comes to the reason behind the changing trends, the expert explained that pop culture is largely the cause.
Television shows for example have a huge impact on baby naming decisions, with the likes of Love Island and celebrities having influence.
“Luca has climbed 20 places to land in fifth place for boys, moving into the top 10 for the first time; possibly given a boost by Luca Bish appearing on Love Island," he said.
“The name Maeve has been used in a couple of different TV shows and has grown in popularity over the past few years. Names seen on Love Island, such as Luca, Millie, Arabella and Kai have all increased since appearing on screen. Other names apparently influenced by celebrities include Lando, Tilly, Matilda and Dua", Daniel added.
