Scotland's provisional Euro 2024 squad named by Steve Clarke

Steve Clarke has named his provisional Scotland squad for this summer's European Championships.

The 28-man Scotland squad for Euro 2024 has today been released with kick-off in Germany now just four weeks away.

The announcement has been highly-anticipated with every fan and pundit holding an opinion over who should be on the plane and who should be left at home.

We now know for certain who will be within a shout and who isn't before the major tournament.

Of those in the player pool, only two will find themselves not going to Germany - with the final cut set to take place after next month's friendlies against Gibraltar and Finland. The final squad will have 26 players in it.

There is a first senior call-up for Liverpool youngster Ben Doak, with the 18-year-old acting as a wildcard pick for Clarke.

James Forrest and Ross McCrorie have also received their first call-ups in a significant period, with both Aaron Hickey and Nathan Patterson out injured, leaving the team short of options at right-wing-back. There is no place for Tino Livramento, who was speculated to have been involved by Clarke.

Four keepers have been called up to the squad, with one expected to drop out before the final call is made next month.

Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack has also been included by Clarke despite the 32-year-old's injury issues during recent months.

Here is how the provisional squad shapes up...

Goalkeepers: Zander Clark, Craig Gordon, Angus Gunn, Liam Kelly

Defenders: Liam Cooper, Grant Hanley, Jack Hendry, Ross McCrorie, Scott McKenna, Ryan Porteous, Anthony Ralston, Andy Robertson, John Souttar, Greg Taylor, Kieran Tierney

Midfielders: Stuart Armstrong, Ryan Christie, Billy Gilmour, Ryan Jack, John McGinn, Callum McGregor, Kenny McLean, Scott McTominay

Attackers: Che Adams, Ben Doak, Lyndon Dykes, James Forrest, Lawrence Shankland
