A schoolgirl is believed to have been carried into McDonald's after being hit by a car.
Merseyside Police confirmed that officers were called to McDonald's on Altcar Road in Formby at around 12.20pm on Saturday, October 15, after they received reports that a girl had been hit by a car. The incident involved a Seat Ibiza and a 10-year-old girl, with the girl suffering minor injuries.
Her mum also confirmed on social media that her daughter was carried into McDonald's after the incident. She wrote in a public post on Saturday: "I thank him [the driver] for not driving fast, carrying her into McDonald's and checking she's been ok the whole afternoon and this evening, it was completely my daughter's fault and I just hope he isn't in too much shock himself."

She said in another comment: "She's absolutely fine, bit of a sore leg, she's been checked out by ambulance crew and Ormskirk hospital. Thanks so much for asking. Apologies to anyone driving down Altcar road as I drove like a loon to get to her."
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "[It] was reported around 12.20pm on Saturday 15 October, involved a Seat Ibiza and 10-year-old girl, slight injuries only and no road closure required."
Ahead of the opening of the McDonald's branch in 2019, concerns were raised about the busy junction and it was said a crossing would be built around the time the fast food restaurant opened, although this is yet to materialise.
Following a campaign from Formby Labour councillors Catie Page and Nina Killen, and the town's MP Bill Esterson, Sefton Council agreed it would install a light-signalled pedestrian crossing near the restaurant.
Then Formby Labour councillor Nina Killen said in 2019: "I believe the crossing will be installed at the end of April [2019]. This will make it far safer to cross as there was previously no pedestrian crossing across Altcar Road.
"Many residents have contacted me asking about building a bridge and if funds were available that would be an ideal solution. Unfortunately at this time, there is no funding available to build a bridge but if local authority funding increased in the future this safety improvement could be considered."
