Scenes from Week 1 of Chiefs OTAs

Photo and video privileges are limited during OTAs, but the Kansas City Chiefs do provide a look through their own lens. They’ve shared several images and videos on social media, giving a glimpse into the practices that help set the foundation for the upcoming season.

Below you can find some clips and photos from the first week of OTAs:

If you’re a Kansas City fan, you’re hoping to see Patrick Mahomes and Valdes-Scantling take another step forward in terms of their chemistry.

Jody Fortson hype train is back on track

Another offseason, another hype train for Jody Fortson? His progress will certainly be something to monitor.

Interesting to see Skyy Moore getting some one-on-one instruction from Chiefs HC Andy Reid.

Gabbert replaces Chad Henne as the veteran backup in the room. It’d appear that he and Mahomes are already well accustomed to one another.

Tranquill with an interception here perhaps? It’s unclear. One thing is certain at least — He’s wearing the green dot. That means he has the mic and is communicating with Steve Spagnuolo on the sideline, getting the play calls for the defense. This probably doesn’t signal much other than the fact that it is a good way for a new player to learn the defense.

Player arrivals at OTAs aren’t quite as enjoyable as the ones at training camp, but at least Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Willie Gay Jr. had some fun with it.
