Scarlett Moffatt says weight gain is a 'them problem' and is 'really confident' with her looks

Scarlett Moffatt says that she finally feels confident about her looks, after struggling with a cocktail of low self-esteem and brutal online trolling for a number of years.

The 32-year-old County Durham lass, who found her way to fame through Channel 4's Gogglebox, has revealed that she feels happier than ever - marking the first time in her life that she can 'genuinely' say that she feels 'confident'.

The Mirror reports that the beloved and bubbly TV-personality is currently on the road to being 'kinder' to herself - while also snapping back at social media trolls who look for appearance 'issues'.

In an interview with the Sun, Scarlett revealed it is simple to ‘target’ yourself over the way you look, saying that many believe they would feel happier if they looked a different way. She said: “When you work on what's inside and find happiness with life in general, you realise it's not a ‘you’ problem, if other people find your body such an issue, it's a ‘them’ problem.

“I feel like I'm finally in a place where I'm very chill, everything has clicked together. I've learned to be kinder to myself and I think it's the first time I can genuinely say I feel really confident."

This is not the first time that the reality star has opened up about her self-love journey. Scarlett often empowers others with her words of body positivity, having often shared snaps on her social media platforms about finding confidence from within.

She also spoke about how women often feel pressured to follow beauty standards, urging others that bodies are not ‘trends’ and encouraging others to love themselves, instead.

She also told the Mirror about how she would enjoy the festivities last month, saying: “My friends all wanted to lose a few pounds to get into their little party dresses, and I just think life is too short. And Christmas is about enjoyment, not denying yourself.

“When you ask me what I am looking forward to at Christmas, I wouldn't like to think anyone would answer that [by] saying 'It's to look really skinny in that dress.'”

Elsewhere, when it comes to her love life, Scarlett admitted that she gave up on having relationships with men before her now-boyfriend Scott Dobinson walked into her life. The pair met when Scarlett was just a teenager, and rekindled their chemistry four years ago.
