Scarlett Moffatt's dream appearance on BBC Antiques Road Trip 'ruined by diarrhoea'

Former Gogglebox favourite Scarlett Moffatt has spoke about how her dream gig on Antiques Road Trip was 'ruined by diarrhoea'.

The 32-year-old County Durham lass blamed a pickled egg and onion bhaji lunch for the tummy trouble.

Finding fame on Channel 4's Gogglebox back in 2014, Scarlett has found herself in the public eye for almost nine years now - popping up on the celebrity special of Antiques Roadtrip in 2021.

The Daily Star reports that Scarlett was sent to Newcastle-upon-Tyne and County Durham on the show itself. She said: "I love museums and I history, so when I was asked to do Antiques Road Trip, I got really excited.

"I’d also had a pickled egg and an onion bhaji for my lunch which, in hindsight, isn’t a good mix. I was in this antiques shop filming and I bent over to look at a plate and I thought, ‘I’m going to s*** myself.’"

Scarlett dashed out quickly to grab an Imodium and hastily ran to the toilet. But her ordeal continued when she realised the whole tiny shop could hear – and smell – her problem.

Scarlett added: "I had the water on but it was coming out hot, so then it was stinking more because of the hot air. I was nearly crying."

This comes months after the brunette beauty opened up about being body positive and how she overcame her body image issues. In July 2022 she told The Sun: “People need to look in the mirror and give themselves a compliment. So many times in the past I missed out on things because I was self-conscious. I didn’t go to pool parties in Las Vegas three years ago.

"I think back and go: ‘Why did I let that happen? Why did I let this bother me?’ I realised when I’m lying on my deathbed, I’m not gonna remember that time I got loads of likes and looked really good.”

Scarlett then gave advice to fans on how they too can cultivate a positive body image, saying: “Genuinely, no matter what you look like, just celebrate you. As long as you are healthy, being yourself and you’re being nice to people, you do you. That’s the big thing that I want to get across.”
