SC advocate and lawyer of Nirbhaya, Hathras rape victim joins BSP, may get ticket

AGRA: Supreme Court lawyer Seema Kushwaha, who had fought the Nirbhaya case in 2012 and is currently the lawyer of the kin of the Hathras gang rape and murder victim, joined Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Thursday in the presence of all-India general secretary of the party Satish Chandra Misra.

Talking to TOI, Kushwaha said she was inspired by Mayawati. “She has struggled a lot in her life and being a woman she understands the plight of women,” she said, adding that during her tenure the law and order situation in the state was good.
