We are big fans of LG OLEDs, but these premium TVs can come with hefty price tags. LG's entry-level A2 is on the more affordable end of the OLED TV price spectrum though, and especially so now thanks to this early Prime Day deal that drops the price of the 48-inch model from $1299 to just $599.
While we haven't formally evaluated the A2, we have reviewed many LG OLEDs – including its C2 sibling which is a five-star performer and winner of a What Hi-Fi? Award. So we certainly wouldn't bet against the A2 being a competitive performer. If you're looking for a new OLED TV at the budget end of the market and the 48-inch size is for you, this LG OLED deal is certainly worth considering.
Today's best 48-inch LG A2 OLED TV deal
LG's A2 OLED TV is another in a long line of reputable OLED sets, but what exactly does the A2 come with? Firstly, you're getting a 48-inch OLED panel, but you're also getting 4K, HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision support, three HDMI 2.0 ports and smart app access functionality, plus Dolby Atmos support.
For gamers, the A2 plays ball with 4K/60Hz gaming, which can handle most next-gen PS5 and Xbox Series games, and you'll also HGiG and ALLM, too. This makes the A2 more than enough for the casual gamer looking for a decent set to use to show off the graphics of a new console without issue.
Given our experience with other LG OLEDs, we'd expect you'll be able to enjoy rich contrast and deep, dark blacks with this like its peers, though we wouldn't expect it to match the performance of a C2. While we haven't tested the A2 just yet, there is certainly reason to expect good things from its image quality.
All told, if you want an OLED TV with competitive, modern features that won't also cost you an arm and a leg, saving $700 on a 48-inch LG A2 OLED is a good way to get that job done, so make sure to give this early Prime Day deal a look.
