Savannah Guthrie Claims She Will Pay In Exchange For The Return Of Her Mother Nancy

US television presenter Savannah Guthrie has claimed she will pay the ransom in exchange for the return of her missing mother, Nancy Guthrie.

In a harrowing update to the story that has gripped the world, the NBC Today news anchor shared an Instagram video claiming that her family will pay the ransom for Nancy’s safe return.

“We received your message, and we understand. We beg you now to return our mother to us,” Guthrie began in the video alongside her siblings, Annie and Camron.

“This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”

Per the Associated Press, authorities believe Nancy was abducted from her home outside of Tucson, Arizona, last week.

During a press conference, which took place on Thursday (US time), Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed that the blood found on the porch of Nancy’s home was hers.

“We saw the importance of that blood. It came back to Nancy,” Nandos said, adding that it’s the only DNA evidence authorities have collected in the case.

No suspects have been identified, and no one has been ruled out yet.

Savannah did not elaborate on what “message” the family received in her most recent video. However, it’s believed to be related to the alleged ransom notes that were sent to multiple news outlets, including KOLD News 13 and TMZ.

FBI special agent in charge Heith Janke claimed the letters contained “no proof of life”, but mentioned a dollar amount and two deadlines: 5pm Thursday, February 5, and Monday, February 9 (US Time).

A Californian man was charged with allegedly sending fake ransom texts to the Guthries, with authorities accusing the suspect of posing as someone connected to Nancy’s disappearance.

In a recent update to the investigation, it’s been reported that Nancy’s home doorbell was disconnected earlier on Sunday, and that software data recorded movement at the house minutes later.

However, she didn’t have an active subscription, the AP reports. Therefore, none of the images were able to be recovered.

“It is concerning — it’s actually almost disappointing, because you’ve got your hopes up,” Nanos said in a press conference on Saturday (US Time).
