Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, held official talks in Amman on Tuesday with Jordan’s King Abdullah II.

The discussions focused on bolstering economic cooperation and boosting sectors that hold promising investments for Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF).

They covered the latest regional and international developments, specifically the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Crown Prince Mohammed and King Abdullah expressed their support to the Palestinian people's pursuit of their rights.

They underscored efforts to reach political solutions to regional crises.

King Abdullah hailed Saudi Arabia’s pivotal role, under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdulaziz bin Salman, in supporting the causes of the Arab and Islamic nation.

He praised Riyadh’s role in bolstering joint Arab work and seeking peace in the region and world.

He reiterated that Amman will constantly stand by Saudi Arabia against any attacks, stressing that the Kingdom’s security was indivisible from that of Jordan and the region.

For his part, Crown Prince Mohammed underlined his country’s constant keenness on bolstering the historic ties that bind it with Jordan. He said it was keen on maintaining coordination to achieve their interests and those of the region.

“Our goal is to forge ahead towards a new phase of cooperation for the sake of Jordan and Saudi Arabia,” he declared.

He noted the major opportunities available in Jordan, saying Saudi Arabia was keen on effectively investing in them.

At the conclusion of his visit, King Abdullah bestowed upon Crown Prince Mohammed Jordan’s highest honor, the Order of Al-Hussein bin Ali, reflecting the unique historic relations that bind their countries.

Jordan was the second stop of Crown Prince Mohammed’s tour of the region. He had kicked it off in Egypt, where he held talks with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. His next stop is Turkey.
