It’s starting to sound like a broken record, but a New York Jet has won the Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week for an incredible sixth consecutive week.
For the third time, cornerback Sauce Gardner has claimed the belt following another strong performance, allowing just one reception, recording seven tackles and an interception in the Jets’ 20-17 win over the Buffalo Bills in Week 9.
The win makes Gardner the first three-time winner of the award this season, an incredible feat in just nine weeks and breaks the three-way tie he had with wide receiver Garrett Wilson and running back Breece Hall, who both have won the award twice.
The question now becomes how many more weekly awards will Gardner win and how big of a favorite he is to win Defensive Rookie of the Year.
For a SIXTH consecutive week, #JetsTwitter has secured the belt.
Congrats @iamSauceGardner on winning your third @pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week!
