Saturday Night Takeaway fans were left divided over a major prize-giveaway on the latest instalment of the popular ITV weekend show, with many accusing guest Sam Fender of making a mistake.
Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly returned for another dose of Saturday evening fun and gags on the hit ITV show.
Millions of fans have been tuning in every weekend to see Ant and Dec in action, since the pair's award-winning programme made its return last month.
As the Geordie duo came to the end of Fleur East's segment Chase the Rainbow, they awarded a jackpot prize to one of the viewers who had gone to meet the X Factor alumni in a secret location.
The Chase The Rainbow game sees viewers left scrambling out of their home and to the secret location if they spot the rainbow lights out of their window.
But when musician guest Sam Fender was tasked with picking the jackpot winning number, and announced it was a seven while holding the ball in question up, many fans took to Twitter to say the number was actually a one.
One wrote: “Was that a 1 not a 7?? very similar!!” as another tweeted: “Think that was a 1 not a 7.”
A fellow social media user wrote: “Not sure if that is a 1 or a 7... Could just be a weird font.”
Another wrote: “The ball that has split the viewers is it a 1 or 7 I think he is right saying it’s a 7.”
Another chimed: “I thought everyone was being silly, it's a 7... but rotating it round a bit, it is clearly a 1 as the top is too short. Soz.”
One fan who felt for the woman who had been holding the number one and would have won the prize wrote: “Please give this lady her prize” with a broken heart emoji.
Another fan suggested: “Deffo number 1,” but a fellow user disagreed, writing: “and it was a 7…”
Ant and Dec previously announced that this would be the final instalment of Chase the Rainbow this season, despite the series having only started three weeks ago.
Dec said: “For the last time this series we're going to chase the rainbow.”
However, insisting that their I'm A Celeb pal wasn't losing her place on the show, he added: “Fleur will be back in two weeks with something very exciting.”
Earlier in the show, ITV viewers were left disappointed as the Geordie duo confirmed that the ITV show will be cancelled next weekend.
Ant told the studio audience: “You may have heard some of you there's no show next week because of the rugby.”
