MUMBAI: Standby cricketers have become vital these days for international tours and so the faithful were curious to know the standbys for the ICC WTC Final against Australia at The Oval in South London from June 7 to 11.
It is reliably learnt from a senior BCCI official that Mumbai's Sarfaraz Khan, Jharkhand's Ishan Kishan, Maharashtra's Ruturaj Gaikwad, Bengal's Mukesh Kumar and Delhi's Navdeep Saini are the lucky ones. Khan and Gaikwad are specialist batters, Saini and Kumar, fast-medium bowlers and Kishan is a keeper-batter.
