Sarah Ferguson has opened up on her relationship with the late Queen on BBC's The One Show. The Duchess of York shared the beautiful advice her former mother-in-law gave her and discussed what it had been like looking after the monarch's beloved Corgis, whom she adopted following Her Majesty's death in September, 2022.
As Sarah sat down on the famous green sofa alongside presenters Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas to discuss her new novel, A Most Intriguing Lady, the Welsh presenter asked: "Since we last saw you we've lost Her Majesty The Queen but you have gained the Corgis."
Laughing at the comment, Sarah said: "Yes and because they are national treasures, I am terrified when they go out running. They chase everything, straight into trees, bang! I go 'no, no the nation loves you, stop chasing the squirrels'." For more showbiz and TV stories get our newsletter here.

Alex added: "Because you used to walk them together didn't you? When Her Majesty was alive?". "Yes," Sarah responded. "One thing I really love when I'm with them actually, because I really think about Her Majesty and I really think about the value system that she supported in this country and how the nation mourns her and grieves for her."
She added: "But yet how exciting it is as we move on to a new monarch and the coronation. I think it is so important for the whole country to unite and uphold the values for the 72 years that the monarch gave us all really."
Sharing the late monarch's beautiful piece of advice, Sarah added: She used to say: 'Sarah, there needs to be more kindness in the world which would disarm malice'. I feel we should all stop for a minute and remember those words with respect and affection for a great leader, who now has passed it on to another great leader in her son. And I think that we can uphold his value system."
"Kindness is key," Alex pointed out, as Sarah agreed and said: "It's so funny to say that straight from the Corgis but when I look at them I think, 'today I'm going to be even more kind'.
