People who have an account with Santander have been issued with a fresh scam warning.
It has been discovered more than 70 per cent of purchase scams originate on social media and comes amid the cost of living crisis.
In a call to other banks, Santander said all payment service providers should follow a specific set of rules to help prevent frauds where people are tricked into transferring cash to criminals.
