Sandra Bullock confirms she will take a break from acting as she is 'burnt out'

Sandra Bullock has once again stated her intention to step away from the limelight in the near future.

The Hollywood star, 57, has admitted she feels "burnt out" and needs to take a break from her hectic career.

In her latest interview, the Miss Congeniality star confessed she was looking forward to a lighter workload after originally confirming she was taking a step back in March.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter she stated: "I don't want to be beholden to anyone's schedule other than my own."

She continued: "I'm so burnt out. I'm so tired, and I'm so not capable of making healthy, smart decisions and I know it."

While she was keen to stress she was grateful for how successful she has been throughout her career, she noted it hadn't been without sacrifice and opened up on her concerns it could further implicate her personal life if she continued to go full throttle.

Sandra also opened up on a conversation she had previously had with herself regarding trying to find success.

She said: "I said to myself, 'Stop looking for it here because it doesn't exist here. You already have it; establish it, find it and be OK not having work to validate you."'

While she is planning a hiatus and doesn't know when she may be back to film her next movie, she's still been busy in recent years and is set to appear on an action-comedy called Bullet Train.

She will feature alongside a star-studded cast which also includes Brad Pitt and Michael Shannon.

Sandra took up the role of Maria Beetle after replacing Lady Gaga who had to drop out of the production.

The film is set to be released on August 5.

It follows her most recent performance in The Lost City, which grossed nearly $190 million worldwide, according to BoxOfficeMojo.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight in March, the star admitted her break will come as she wants to spend more time with her kids, insisting: "That's where I'm gonna be for a while."
