We’ve all been feeling the vicarious love in the wake of Sam Kerr’s marriage to Kristie Mewis, and now we’ve got even more pics from the utterly adorable ceremony.
ICYMI, the Matildas star and US soccer player tied the knot with a wedding in Perth on New Year’s Eve, finally saying ‘I do’ after meeting in 2019 and getting engaged in 2023.
According to multiple reports, the pair’s son Jagger was carried down the aisle by Kerr (I’m weeping), with Mewis wearing a gorgeous off-shoulder, semi-sheer white dress and Kerr donning a tux for their big day.

We got a brief glimpse into the nuptials with some paparazzi shots and some BTS snaps on Kerr’s social media, but now the pair have pulled the curtain back even further with an Instagram Post and photoshoot with Vogue Australia.
The first pic sees the newlyweds enjoying a smooch in their respective wedding get-ups, while the second shows Mewis with outstretched arms and a glass of wine while perched on Kerr’s shoulders.
If anyone can muster the perilous task of a dancefloor piggyback, it’s Sam Kerr.

Meanwhile, Vogue photographer Sarah Tonkin snapped Kerr and Mewis’ pre-wedding festivities, with the pair seen (rightfully) flaunting their outfits and sharing a kiss at the end of the aisle.
We got even more deets about the ceremony in the accompanying Vogue article, which revealed that the big day took place at Villa Dionysus, a Lake Como-style estate located just a short drive out of Perth in Swan Valley.

In terms of the guest list, we know that a bunch of famous soccer players were in attendance, including Arsenal stars Caitlin Foord and Katie McCabe, and former U.S. player Stephanie McCaffrey, as well as fellow Matildas teammates like Steph Catley, Mackenzie Arnold, and Alanna Kennedy.
Surely there was a quick round robin with all those footballer guests, right?
Arnold shared multiple snaps from the big day on IG, with her and a bunch of other guests seen wearing black in line with the wedding’s dress theme.

As for what’s next for the couple, we don’t yet know of any official honeymoon plans, but Mewis did mention travelling to the Men’s World Cup — a pitch-perfect choice for the athletes.
“We are talking about going to the Men’s World Cup, which I know isn’t very, like, honeymoonish,” Mewis said on The Women’s Game podcast.
Until then, we wish the newlyweds all the best for their married life!
