Former X Factor winner Sam Bailey has opened up about her struggles as her young son has not been in school for a year.
Sam Bailey won the 2013 X-Factor contest and quickly achieved fame after her cover of Demi Lovato's Skyscraper reached Christmas number one following her victory on the show.
Sam bravely spoke about her young son Tommy who has autism. Appearing on ITV's Loose Women on Monday, she said: "The last time I spoke to you I was going through a lot of struggles with Tommy, he's been off school since July last year. He's been living at home in his pyjamas for a year with hardly any education.

"The year I've had, the system is so broken. Because he's autistic he can't go to a mainstream school because they can't meet his needs but he didn't have enough funding to go to a specialist school so I was stuck with him at home because they wouldn't give me the funding.
"Whilst I've been in the show, I've been on the phone, emails. I've gone through six case managers, I've talked to MPs, I've talked to parents. There are so many people out there, the same as me struggling because children are at home. There's not enough schools.
"I've fought, banged on tables and not everyone can do this." She added he has now managed to get into a school and is due to start in September.
The ECHO previously reported how fans were wowed over Sam's Instagram post as the star looked "unrecognisable". Sam posted a selfie of herself with heavy silver eye makeup, a bright red lip and contoured cheekbones.
