More than 20,000 people are expected to turn out to celebrate the return of the giant fireworks display at Saltwell Park in Gateshead.
The popular event, hosted by Metro Radio, last took place in 2019 and its post-pandemic return this Saturday, November 5 - on Bonfire Night itself - is promising to be the best yet. Those going along are advised not to take a car but to use a specially-arranged park-and-ride system.
Organisers say this is set to be the biggest display in the region with a whopping 30-minutes of fireworks accompanied by a laser light show, a live Metro Radio DJ set, food and drink stalls and fairground rides. They are also promising street performers, dance and a fire-eating stage show on the night which will see gates open at 5pm; the firework action get underway at 7.30pm and food, drink and rides available until 9pm.
