A multistate outbreak of Salmonella Javiana infections in the United States has sickened 345 people across 27 states, with health authorities linking the illnesses to fresh jalapeno peppers imported from Mexico.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), along with state and local health departments, are investigating the outbreak.
