Sajid Javid gives update on Deltacron in UK as he says Covid cases will rise

A “handful” of Deltacron cases have been discovered in the UK, the Health Secretary has revealed.

Sajid Javid said that the new variant was “not of particular concern” as Omicron remains the dominant strain in the country.

Deltacron is considered a ‘hybrid’ variant, containing elements of both the Omicron and Delta strains of coronavirus, with several cases being recorded across Europe.
